Description:
The year was 1988 when a young boy with psychic powers caused a catastrophic event in Tokyo that sparked World War III. He was captured, but vanished without a trace. Decades later, Neo-Tokyo had been rebuilt, but it suffered from violence and terrorism by gangs opposing its government. Among them, Shoutarou Kaneda led a group of outcasts called "the Capsules," who fought against their rivals, "the Clowns," on their customized motorcycles. During one of their clashes, Shoutarou's best friend Tetsuo Shima collided with an esper who had escaped from a government facility. This encounter led Tetsuo to develop his own psychic abilities. However, fearing a new catastrophe that could leave the city in ruins, the government sought to contain him.
