Description:
The initial chapter of a double-feature film detailing a summary of the TV program. Mirai Kuriyama is the only survivor of a clan of fighters from the Spirit World who possess the ability to wield their own blood as weapons. Assigned with the task of questing for and exterminating "youmu," creatures believed to be the embodiment of negative human emotions, Mirai stumbles upon Akihito Kanbara, a scarce hybrid of youmu who takes human shape. Reacting in terror, she thrusts her blood saber into him, later realizing that he is an immortal entity. Eventually, the two form a spur-of-the-moment camaraderie centered on Mirai's persistent attempts to slay Akihito, striving to rekindle her own self-confidence as a Spirit World combatant. Throughout their journey, Akihito persuades Mirai to join the Literary Club, which houses two additional authoritative Spirit World fighters, Hiroomi and Mitsuki Nase. While banding together fortifies the group, the youmu surrounding them become increasingly determined. Their hijinks will rapidly turn into a struggle for survival as the inevitable release of the most substantial youmu, Beyond the Boundary, grows closer.
