Description:
Based on Hideo Furukawa's Heike Monogatari: Inu-Ou no Maki, this musical fantasy film follows the life of Inu-Oh, a boy with unique physical attributes that compel his parents to cover his entire body with garments and mask his face. His path cross with a blind boy, Tomona, who plays the biwa and inspires Inu-Oh's impressive dancing skills. Together, they captivate audiences around Japan with their talent, but their success unveils deeper questions about their origins and fates. Inu-Oh's story is a tribute to a legendary artist from 14th-century Japan who forged his own destiny despite the constraints of his time. The anime, presented as a rock operetta, features stunning musical and dance sequences at the Venice International Film Festival on September 9, 2021.
