Description:

The legend of mermaids lurking near Merfolk Island, which involves them preying on humans in Hinashi Town, is reinforced by Kai Ashimoto's grandfather. As a result, the topic of music is seldom brought up in the Ashimoto household due to the belief that it attracts merfolk, who caused the death of the elder's mother. Nonetheless, Kai finds solace in creating looped beats on his laptop. After stumbling upon one of Kai's videos, Kunio and Yuuho Ebina, his classmates, invite him to join their rock band. Kai appears indifferent but eventually agrees to go with them to Merfolk Island for a practice session, where he witnesses something inexplicable. Later that night, while working on music in his room, Kai is drawn to a mermaid who appears familiar. As she dances and grins to the rhythm of his beats, Kai learns more about Lu, who possesses incredible water manipulation abilities, can grow legs through music, and most importantly, yearns for acceptance from people. Kai and Lu develop a unique friendship, challenging deep-rooted boundaries that have silenced the beautiful melody among the villagers of Hinashi Town.
